The New Testament
is the second major
part of the Christian biblical canon, the first part being the Old
Testament, based on the Hebrew Bible. The Greek New Testament
discusses the teachings and person of Jesus, as well as events in
first-century Christianity. Christians regard both the Old and New
Testaments together as sacred scripture.
Ἔστιν δὲ πίστις
πραγμάτων ἔλεγχος οὐ βλεπομένων·
For if ye forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also
forgive you: But if ye forgive not men their trespasses, neither will your
Father forgive your trespasses.
Ye are the salt of the earth: but if the salt have lost his savour,
wherewith shall it be salted? it is thenceforth good for nothing, but to
be cast out, and to be trodden under foot of men.
Ye are the light of the world. A city that is set on an hill cannot be
hid. Neither do men light a candle, and put it under a bushel, but on a
candlestick; and it giveth light unto all that are in the house. Let your
light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify
your Father which is in heaven.
Romans 7: 19-20
19 οὐ γὰρ ὃ
19 For the good that I would I do not:
but the evil which I would not, that I do.
20 Now if I do that I would not, it is
no more I that do it, but sin that dwelleth in me.
The word that launched a whole new religion here is the word
meaning: "original sin."
-Saul of Tarsus [Romans 7: 19-20]
“Jesus answered and said unto them,
Though I bear record of myself, yet my record is true:
for I know whence I came, and whither I go;
cannot tell whence I come, and whither I go.
“For the kingdom of heaven is as a man
travelling into a far country,
who called his own servants,
and delivered unto them his goods.
“I was Naked, and ye clothed me:
I was sick, and ye visited me:
I was in prison,
and ye came unto me.
“Shall we give, or shall we not give?
But he, knowing their hypocrisy, said unto them,
Why tempt ye me? bring me a penny, that I may see it.
“But that ye may know that the Son of man hath power upon earth to forgive
sins, (he said unto the sick of the palsy,) I say unto thee, Arise, and
take up thy couch, and go into thine house.
“And every creature which is in heaven, and on the earth, and under the
earth, and such as are in the sea, and all that are in them, heard I
saying, Blessing, and honour, and glory, and power, be unto him that
sitteth upon the throne, and unto the Lamb for ever and ever.
“The God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, which is blessed for
evermore, knoweth that I lie not.
2 Corinthians 11:31
“For what glory is it, if, when ye be buffeted for your faults, ye shall
take it patiently? but if, when ye do well, and suffer for it, ye take it
patiently, this is acceptable with God.
1 Peter 2:20
“Who is a wise man and endued with knowledge among you? let him shew out
of a good conversation his works with meekness of wisdom.
“Beloved, follow not that which is evil, but that which is good. He that
doeth good is of God: but he that doeth evil hath not seen God.
